What will I do on Lattitude ICS?
The Lattitude ICS programme is based around projects which focus on youth and community development, with community based roles, where volunteers are living and working in a rural community.
You will be part of a team of UK and local volunteers working and living together, sharing cross cultural experience and gaining direct experience of international development work.
Each project has a development objective and aims to achieve various outcomes which contribute to ongoing sustainable development in the host community. This may be accomplished through the work of one team of volunteers or, more often, will be developed over the work of several groups of volunteers. The content of the programme varies depending on host requirements, but you could be contributing to projects that help tackle issues around education, women’s empowerment, health and the environment.
Teams are supported by volunteer Team Leaders. If you are over the age of 23, have previous volunteering experience, experience of working and living in a development setting and the maturity and skills to help lead a group, you may wish to consider applying for a place as a volunteer Team Leader (typically a placement of 20 weeks or more). Teams will also be supported by a locally based Lattitude ICS Coordinator within our country level support infrastructure.
What else is available on ICS?
