ICS action at home
International Citizen Service (ICS) doesn’t end when you come home. You will be encouraged to use the skills and enthusiasm you developed volunteering overseas to contribute in your home community.
When you return home, you will take part in Action at Home. This is a great opportunity for you to explain what you’ve achieved abroad and help create awareness of development issues and build support to tackle issues that you are passionate about.
You could, for example, organise an event at your former school, or a photo exhibition in the local library. There are many possibilities and through ICS Lattitude and the ICS Hub there is plenty of support to help you with your projects and events.
Not only is it a great opportunity for you to spread the word about ICS, it is also a chance to utilise skills and demonstrate abilities that have been honed on your overseas volunteering placement and that look great on your CV.
