Cost & fundraising

Cost & fundraising for Lattitude ICS

The International Citizen Service is funded by the Department for International Development (DFID), so you do not need to pay to volunteer. You will however be asked to fundraise a minimum of £800, which is put back into the scheme to help others benefit from this development volunteer experience.

What is Included

The ICS programme covers the cost of flights, visas, travel and medical insurance, appropriate vaccinations and food and accommodation.

We ask volunteers to make sure they have a passport and whatever personal items they think they will need.

Your fundraising commitment

Fundraising is a very important part of the programme. It helps you explain to others what you will be doing as well as helping you to focus and prepare for the experience.

You may have never done any fundraising before but this should not prevent you from applying to the programme. All ICS volunteers will be supported by both Lattitude ICS staff as well as those from the central ICS Hub. Fundraising can be fun and is an integral part of your volunteer ‘journey’. Ideas, advice and guidance will be freely provided to ensure you meet your target. ICS is open to anyone aged 18-25 regardless of their income, qualifications or skills. No volunteer will be excluded from the programme because of financial cost.
