Pocket Money
Circa 250,000 VD per month Not all hosts provide volunteers with pocket money. If pocket money is available it should be seen as a bonus. We ask that volunteers DO NOT take the pocket money into account or to expect it. It is NOT a salary for your work as volunteering is a donation of time. It is also entirely up to each host whether they can afford to pay volunteers and how much they may be able to afford, as such the amount a volunteer may receive varies. This being the case volunteers SHOULD NOT expect to receive equal amounts of pocket money in relation to fellow volunteers from other placements.
How does it work?
There are several things that require budgeting for, and as you can see from the above information, some costs are out of Lattitude’s control such as flights and insurance. For this reason we have estimated the range of costs which have been based on our own experience and those of returned volunteers. However we are keen to make our volunteering opportunities as affordable as possible and can provide advice and support to help you achieve your goals.
Fundraising
We can support and advise you with your fundraising efforts and have experienced staff on hand if you are fundraising for your placement cost.
Lattitude Payment Plan
Additionally, we also offer a payment plan to help spread the cost of your Lattitude placement. If you are applying at least 9 months ahead of your departure date, this is a good way of spreading the cost. Talk to us if you would like more information on how this works. We recommend that you apply as early as possible to secure your placement and will accept applications up to 15 months in advance.
Payment process:
*Workshops are only available if attending a Selection Day
Deposits
We ask that you pay a non refundable deposit to secure your place as our team of Volunteer Coordinators will begin work on your behalf as soon as we have firm commitment from you to the Lattitude programme. This deposit covers the administration, interviews and matching and selection and host liaison to identify appropriate placements and programme logistics.
How do I pay?
There are a range of payment options available once accepted on to the Lattitude Programme. Volunteers are invoiced at different stages of the process covering
- a) Initial deposit to secure your place
- b) Interim payment 6 months before departure and
- c) final invoice for the remaining amount.
We are able to accept the following methods of payment:
- Secure on-line payment via the Lattitude Global Volunteering website.
- Debit/Credit card payment over the telephone (Tel: 0118 959 4914)
- Payment plan via a regular standing order to pay weekly/monthly.
If you have any queries about payments or any other financial aspect please e-mail us at [email protected] or telephone 0118 959 4914
