Lattitude volunteers fundraise to help cover the cost of their overseas placement. Fundraising for your project is part of the Lattitude experience. You are giving up your time to do worthwhile voluntary work abroad so your family, friends, work colleagues and the general public may be willing to support you.
As well as working for the benefit of your host placement, you will be gaining new skills and learning about new cultures. Be ready to talk about your volunteering - why you want to go and what you hope to achieve for the local community and your own personal development. If you show your commitment to volunteering overseas, planning ahead and fundraising will help you cover your costs. The majority of our volunteers have to raise money before they leave, which can be a very rewarding and enjoyable experience in itself!

We're here to help
Once you have been made an offer of a Lattitude placement, you will receive a comprehensive fundraising guide. You can also contact the fundraising advisor in your country for more ideas about how to raise some money for your gap year.
We can also provide sponsorship forms, references and Lattitude literature to support any fundraising you are doing. If you let us know what you are doing, our PR team will also help you to get in the local papers to publicise your fundraising events.
