We can help you cover the cost of volunteering overseas

For applicants from the UK, we have a number of bursary schemes available. The bursary schemes are designed to help volunteers meet the cost of volunteering overseas. As a registered UK charity, Lattitude Global Volunteering is able to fundraise for projects that help us meet our aims. One of these aims is to make volunteering overseas accessible to everyone.

Who can apply ?

All UK  applicants (those entitled to a British passport) who are aged 17-25 will be considered.
Applicants need to demonstrate why raising the funds required is likely to be more challenging for them. Please see the below links for the various bursary categories we have available:

    • General Bursary Scheme

      We have funding available for all young people living in the UK whose financial circumstances would make it difficult for them to volunteer.

      Who can apply?

      Applicants aged 17-25 (entitled to a British passport) and living in the UK. Applicants will need to complete an application form demonstrating why they are unable to raise the funds required.

      What’s available?

      Bursaries awarded are between £100 up to £500 depending on each applicants financial circumstances.*

      How can I apply?

      First, you need to complete the Lattitude Global Volunteering application form, indicating that you would like to be considered for a bursary, you should also send in with your Lattitude Global Volunteering application, the bursary application form. This is available for download on the same page as the general application form. You will then be contacted by us. You’ll need to give information about financial circumstances and any fundraising plans you may have.

      Applications must be made 9 months or more before desired departure. Unfortunately we will be unable to review bursary applications after the 9 month requirement

    • West Midlands Bursaries
        Funding available for young people living in the West Midlands whose financial circumstances would make it difficult for them to volunteer.

      Who can apply?

      Applicants aged 17-25 (entitled to a British passport) and living in the West Midlands. Applicants need to demonstrate why raising the funds required is likely to be more challenging for them.

      What’s available?

      Bursaries awarded are between £100 up to £500 depending on each applicants financial circumstances.*

      How can I apply?

      First, you need to complete the Lattitude Global Volunteering application form, indicating that you would like to be considered for a bursary, you should also send in with your Lattitude Global Volunteering application, the bursary application form.     • North East Bursaries

      Who can apply?

      Applicants aged 17-25 (entitled to a British passport) and living in the North East. Applicants need to demonstrate why raising the funds required is likely to be more challenging for them.

      Bursaries awarded are between £100 up to £500 depending on each applicants financial circumstances.*

      How can I apply?

    • Scottish Bursaries

      Thanks to funding from Perth based charity the Gannochy Trust, Lattitude Global Volunteering is able to offer a range of bursaries to young people from Scotland.

      Who can apply?

      Scottish applicants aged 17-25 who can demonstrate why it would be harder for them to raise the funds required, in comparison with other candidates

      What’s available?

      Bursaries awarded are between £100 up to £500 depending on each applicants financial circumstances.*

      How can I apply?

      First, you need to complete the Lattitude Global Volunteering application form, indicating that you would like to be considered for a bursary, you should also send in with your Lattitude Global Volunteering application, the bursary application form. You’ll need to give information about financial circumstances and any fundraising plans you may have.

    • The Myles Robinson Bursary
      Thanks to the generosity of the Myles Robinson Memorial Trust we are able to offer bursaries to young people from around the UK who will be undertaking placements with Lattitude Global Volunteering that fit the following criteria:
      Volunteering in: Africa or Latin America
      Volunteering at: primary schools & / or community projects, placements should involve or offer the chance to develop sports programmes as either part of the school day or as extra-curricular activities.

 *Please note, the bursary can contribute towards the Lattitude Global Volunteering fee only. Volunteers will need to budget for flights, insurance, visa and any medical costs. for an overview of costs involved please see our costs page.
